Question about Lodging and Apartments in Costa Rica

Thinking of coming down for a month of R&R, golf, and schmoozing. Where's the best place to stay, a hotel or an apartment. Any help would be appreciated.

An "Apartotel" may be a good option, it's a hotel but the rooms are set up like apartments with kitchen and what not. There's a pretty nice one in Escazu, but that's if you want to visit Little Miami. If you want to experience real Costa Rica avoid Escazu and Cariari (Cariari is where the golf course is). However if you're looking for something that at least resembles the states those would be the areas you want.

It would be easier to provide advice if you were more specific as to what you want to do (other than golf) and the price range you're looking for.

is there something that's centrally located that's near golf and all or most of the sportsbooks? Would rather stay high end then rough it. Also, just out of curiosity, how far is all of this from the beach?

wanna, both escazu and cariari are 10 mins from San Jose, very nice areas both of them.

about the beach, regardless of where you are in the country, there will be a beach an hour and a half away.

WANNA,
check out APARTOTELCHRISTINA in Sabana Sur. Very clean centrally located has a nice pool and resturant hooked on to it. I dont know if they have a website but the local number is 506-220-0453.
